Mary Anne has been writing poetry and singing in the shower most of her life. A late bloomer by music world standards, she picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of 21 and began to turn her poetry into songs. Accompanying her stirring vocals, is a combination of gentle acoustic indie-folk sounds – soulful, sometimes bluesy, and hauntingly honest.
After launching a successful crowdfunding campaign for her debut album "Where Oceans Meet the Sky" which ran for 50 days over Dec 2016 - Jan 2017, Mary Anne Constable pre-sold over 110 albums, raising over R30 000 towards the costs of making the album. The completed album was launched in February 2017.
Mary Anne is a qualified architect and award winning architectural journalist and writing songs and music has always been a hobby, but she finally started performing live gigs in 2011, finding her feet in the music world. This album is the culmination of a 10-year body of creative work and the realisation of a life-long dream.
